The press service of the World Health Organization released a statement by WHO President Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, in which he named several reasons for the increase in the rate of coronavirus infection in the world.

“The increase in incidence rates in some countries is partly due to the fact that young people lose their vigilance during the summer, especially in the northern hemisphere.

Recall, according to WHO, more than 17 million people were infected with COVID-19, almost 670 thousand died. Over the past day, 290 thousand new cases of infection have been identified.

“Evidence suggests that outbreaks in some countries are partly due to young people letting their guard down during the summer in northern hemisphere countries,” said the head of the WHO.
