Daytime temperatures will exceed normal by 6-8 degrees over the coming weekend in central European Russia due to the influence of warm air mass that has formed over the Atlantic and southern Mediterranean. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand.

According to him, Moscow and the center of the European part of the country were located on the western periphery of a low-pressure hollow, which forms the circulation of the flow: in the west – northern, in the south – western, and the eastern periphery – southern. As a result, Moscow found itself on the eastern periphery of the warm air mass at the end of the week.

Vilfand noted that on Friday, October 23, in Moscow, the maximum temperature reached 14 degrees, on October 24, similar weather is expected at about 13 degrees, precipitation will decrease. Sunday 25 October will be a transitional day, warm and light rainfall expected.

Earlier on October 23, forecasters predicted cold weather for the weekend for Krasnoyarsk residents. Frost and snow are expected in the city. In the Sverdlovsk region, local residents were warned of strong winds, sleet and ice.

In September, Yevgeny Tishkovets, a specialist at the FOBOS weather center, told what kind of weather Russians should expect in the coming winter. According to him, there will be no abnormal heat like in winter 2019/20.
