Scientists at Wake Forest School of Medicine in North Carolina have found that it helps women to cope with the coronavirus more easily. This is a higher level of the hormone estrogen than men. It lowers the level of an enzyme that carries the virus to various organs. That is why the risk of getting sick in a more severe form in men is much higher, and there are twice as many deaths among the stronger sex.
According to experts, different methods of treatment should be used in the treatment of representatives of different sexes and even different types of vaccines should be administered to them, taking into account hormonal differences, MIR 24 reports.
