The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating several cases of human allergic reactions to the Pfizer and BioNTech coronavirus vaccine. This was announced on December 18 by the head of the department of vaccines department Peter Marks.
“The total number of cases [аллергии]that we are studying is about five, ”he said during a briefing broadcast on the official FDA YouTube channel.
Marks noted that the allergic reaction could be caused by polyethylene glycol, which is part of the drug, but it is still impossible to say for sure about this.
On the eve it became known that the American biotechnology company Moderna destroyed about 400 thousand doses of vaccine against COVID-19 due to problems at the final stages of production of the drug associated with “filtration”.
On December 18, the US government granted immunity from liability for side effects from the vaccine in volunteers to the US companies Pfizer and Moderna.

It is noted that the woman developed an allergic reaction after receiving the vaccine, although she did not have a history of allergies. The next day, it was reported that another physician needed emergency assistance after vaccination.
