The defendants in the criminal case of trafficking in children from surrogate mothers – manager Valentina Chernyshova and legal adviser Roman Emashev – confessed and made a deal with the investigation. Their lawyer Igor Trunov told about this on September 9.

“On August 6, Valentina Chernyshova and on August 21, Roman Emashev, filed a petition for the conclusion of a pre-trial cooperation agreement to investigator L. V. Smirnova, who issued decisions approved by and. about. the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, DV Kolesnikov, and sent to the Deputy Prosecutor General, “TASS quotes him.

According to the defender, the decisions state that the accused fully admit their guilt, undertake to cooperate with the investigation, to expose the accomplices, to report on their role, methods of conspiracy, the persons who received minor children at their disposal, and other circumstances of the activities to organize the sale of minor children.

In January 2020, the body of a baby was found in an apartment in Odintsovo near Moscow. The child was born with a congenital pathology, and the mother gave it to a company that was engaged in surrogacy. The baby was not provided with medical assistance, and as a result, he died. In addition to him, there were three more newborns in the makeshift shelter.

Criminal cases were initiated under the articles “Causing death by negligence” and “Human trafficking”. As part of the investigation, eight people were detained – doctors of private medical centers and employees of commercial organizations. Konstantin Svitnev, the head of the Rosjurconsulting company involved in the case, is in London.

According to media reports, another defendant in the case, Irina Kogut, is hiding from the investigation in Ukraine. According to the investigation, the woman was twice a surrogate mother – in December 2014, when she gave birth to a girl, and in October 2016, when she gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl. Investigators believe that she knew about the criminal component of the scheme organized by Rosjurconsulting, therefore, she is considered an accomplice in the crime.
