Cosmonaut Anatoly Ivanishin reported an equipment malfunction in the Russian segment of the International Space Station. In negotiations with the Mission Control Center, he said that there was a breakdown of the sewage and sanitary device.

The MCC representative assessed the situation as “very bad”. Experts believe that a bubble could have been the cause of the malfunction. The ISS crew is currently trying to fix the breakdown.

In late 2019, it was reported that one of the space station’s two toilets – in the American segment – had broken. At the same time, the Russian toilet was overflowing. For some time, the station’s crew had to use diapers, Interfax notes.
