The Ukrainian authorities deliberately decided to abandon Crimea and Donbass in 2014, said Ilya Kiva, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life.

Thanks to this, ex-President Petro Poroshenko was able to win the elections in the first round, he said.

“For this they cut off Donbass and gave up Crimea. Once again I tell you: the Ukrainian authorities gave Crimea on their own, ”Kiva said on the air of the Newsone TV channel.

As evidence of Kiev’s intentional actions, the deputy called the withdrawal of troops from Crimea. In addition, he noted that it is already profitable for Kiev to live without Crimea and Donbass, since the authorities enrich themselves in the war and blame their failures on the conflict.

Crimea returned to Russia in 2014 following a referendum in which most of the region’s residents voted for reunification.

On October 13, Deputy Prime Minister of the Crimean government Georgy Muradov said that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky had suffered a complete fiasco in his efforts to regain control of the peninsula. In his opinion, the consciousness of the Ukrainian leader is distorted by the Bandera ideology, which is why he is pursuing an anti-Russian policy and is not aware of the real situation with Crimea.
