The Ukrainian authorities deliberately went to the loss of Donbass and Crimea in 2014, believes the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Opposition Platform – For Life party Ilya Kiva.

The parliamentarian believes that this was due to the pre-election situation in the country. “When Poroshenko needed to hold elections and win in one round, they cut off Donbass and gave up Crimea for this,” the legislator noted, stressing that the Ukrainian authorities themselves renounced their territories.

According to the politician, Kiev was guided by a “prepared plan”, for example, the Crimea was abandoned by the troops in advance, although earlier, according to the deputy, “there were elite Ukrainian units.” Kiva also added that within six years a whole stratum of society appeared in Ukraine, accustomed to “living off the war, enriching themselves in the war and justifying their failures by war.”

Crimea became part of Russia following a referendum held there in March 2014.
