A verdict was passed in a criminal case against a member of an organized criminal group involved in staging an accident.
The 28-year-old Volgograd resident was found guilty of five insurance frauds as part of an organized group, as well as attempted fraud and forgery.
According to Oksana Cheredinina, senior assistant to the prosecutor of the Volgograd region for interaction with the media, the defendant was a member of an organized criminal group involved in staging road accidents. The gang received insurance payments for fake traffic accidents.
From 2016 to 2019, the members of the group staged 7 road accidents, planning to receive insurance in the amount of more than 2.1 million rubles. We received more than 1.5 million rubles.
The investigation was conducted by officers of the Russian MIA Administration for Volgograd.
The defendant fully admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison in a general regime correctional colony.
