In Krasnodar, work continues on the preservation and protection of architectural and historical monuments located in the historical part of the city. It is being conducted on behalf of Governor Veniamin Kondratyev.
In particular, the mill of the merchant Kirkor Kior-Ogly, which was built in the late 19th – early 20th centuries, is expected to be renovated. It was the largest mill building in Yekaterinodar in the pre-revolutionary years.
This object is considered an example of industrial architecture. It is in federal ownership, but for a long time it has not been operated or heated in any way. The roof of the mill is completely lost, and the walls are partially destroyed.
According to the deputy head of the region, Sergei Boldin, quoted by Kubanskie Novosti news agency, residents of Krasnodar have repeatedly asked to put this landmark for the city in order. As a result, the territorial administration of the Federal Property Management Agency allocated 1.3 million rubles for the first stage of restoration work.
In the near future, there will be a competition for the development of design estimates for carrying out activities for the conservation of the mill. This will stop the destruction of the historic building.
In total, it is planned to restore five objects of cultural heritage in Krasnodar, including the House of the Merchant Likhatsky. All of them are located in the historic center.
