The number of servicemen injured in an accident on the Novorizhskoe highway in the Moscow region has reached 50 people, Interfax writes on January 11, citing a source.
Earlier, the press service of the Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the region reported that at least 40 people were injured as a result of the accident. It is known that four people died.
According to Izvestia’s source, 16 victims are in serious condition.
As specified in the RF Ministry of Defense, the driver of a heavy truck Scania lost control and rammed one of the PAZ buses of a military convoy. It is known that in the military buses of the 147th automobile base of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, which followed a column along the highway, accompanied by a military automobile inspection, there were conscripts and officers.
The heavy truck driver has been detained, his condition and documents required to drive the truck are being checked.
According to the company Triumph VNV LLC, from which a large truck was rented, the driver does not work in the organization, he carried out private orders, the general director of the company Natalya Popovich told TASS.
