At Smolensk State University, the academic year will begin in the traditional format. Students will start classes on September 2. On September 1, the first-year students will be introduced to the faculties at the university, couples will start the next day. Some of the disciplines will be transferred to the online format. The press service of SmolSU informs that most of the classes will be carried out in the usual form.

Thermometry at the entrance will be obligatory, the schedule will be drawn up in several streams – so as not to create a queue and excessive intersection of visitors. In all public spaces of the university, employees and students will be required to wear personal protective equipment, that is, protective masks. Restrictions will affect the holding of public events: the autumn festivals and dedication to students are planned to be transferred online.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, citizens of Turkey, Great Britain, Tanzania, Switzerland, Abkhazia, as well as persons with a residence permit or other document confirming the right to permanent residence in the above countries, can already return to Russia. Students from other countries will continue to study remotely for now.
