In Russia, in January-June 2020, 113.7 thousand new passenger cars of Japanese brands were sold, which is 19% less than in the first half of 2019. This was reported on July 30 by Avtostat.
The most popular model was the Toyota RAV4 crossover, sales of which amounted to 16.1 thousand units (+ 21%). The second place is occupied by the Toyota Camry sedan – 11.4 thousand cars (-30%). Closes the top three leaders Nissan Qashqai. Residents of the country purchased 10.3 thousand of these cars (-9%).
The top 10 best-selling Japanese cars on the Russian market in 6 months of 2020 also included Nissan X-Trail (9.2 thousand units; -10%), Mazda CX-5 (8.8 thousand units; −4%), Mitsubishi Outlander (6.5 thousand units; -39%), Datsun on-Do (6.3 thousand units; -32%), Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (5.7 thousand units .; -12%), Nissan Terrano (4.9 thousand units; -18%) and Lexus RX (4.3 thousand units; + 14%).
On July 24, it was reported that in July 2020, there were 3,152 official dealerships in Russia for the sale and maintenance of cars, which is 228 less than at the beginning of the year (in January 2020, there were 3,370 dealers).
