The Central District Court of Kemerovo sent Vyacheslav Vishnevsky, co-owner of the Kemerovo shopping and entertainment center Zimnyaya Vishnya, to jail for six months. This was announced on Tuesday, October 6, by the press service of the court.

“The period of his detention has been set at six months from the date of the receipt of the criminal case by the court, ie. until March 28, 2021, “the message says.

The court also added that the consideration of the criminal case on the merits is scheduled for October 16.

According to the investigation, Vishnevsky, through his representative, gave a bribe in the amount of 7 million rubles to the head of the State Construction Supervision Inspectorate of the Kemerovo Region, Tanzila Komkova, as a result of which he received permission to put Zimnyaya Vishnya into operation, despite obvious violations (lack of permission to reconstruct the building and violation of the requirements of project documentation). The money was transferred to the account of a company controlled by Komkova under the guise of payment for design services.

The final indictment was brought against Vishnevsky at the end of May. After the fire in Zimnyaya Vishnya, he fled from the investigation and was put on the international wanted list. In March this year, Poland handed it over to Russia.

On September 15, the Investigative Committee completed its investigation into Vishnevsky.

Komkova and her three accomplices (her son Eduard Komkov, head of the Resurs construction company Nikita Cherednichenko and Komkova’s subordinate Svetlana Shengerei) are in custody.

The fire in “Winter Cherry”, which killed 60 people, including 37 children, occurred on March 25, 2018. The fire happened due to a short circuit on the fourth floor of the building. The death of people contributed to the violation of fire safety requirements.
