The Interdepartmental Coordination Council of St. Petersburg to counter the spread of coronavirus infection assessed the third wave of the COVID-19 pandemic in the city as highly probable.
“The intensity of the spread of infection is decreasing, but the second wave in its fall has not yet reached the minimum that was observed in August 2020 between the first and second waves. The probability of a third wave is high,” the council said.
It is noted that the main anti-epidemic restrictions are in force in St. Petersburg, there is a mass vaccination of the population against coronavirus. So, in the city, more than 498 thousand were vaccinated, of which over 346 thousand completed the full course.
