Sobyanin spoke about the third stage of the study of the vaccine against COVID-19

Every Muscovite can take part in the third phase of the coronavirus vaccine study. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin announced this on Wednesday, August 26 in his blog.

“Together with colleagues from the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, with the support of the Direct Investment Fund, we are starting post-registration studies of a vaccine against coronavirus in Moscow. We will conduct them on the basis of city medical institutions. Any Muscovite can apply for participation in the program, ”Sobyanin wrote.

According to him, the study will allow obtaining a permanent registration certificate for the vaccine.

He noted that a request for participation in the study can be left on the official website of the mayor of Moscow. Doctors will study all applications, medical indicators of people and will select 40 thousand people. The experiment period is six months.

“Doctors will monitor health using telemedicine technologies. We have also created a special mobile application with a self-observation diary. Some of the research participants will receive electronic bracelets to measure blood pressure and body temperature, ”added Sobyanin.

The day before, the director of the Gamaleya Center, Alexander Gintsburg, said that the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Russian doctors would arrive in Moscow clinics on September 3.

On August 11, Russia registered the world’s first vaccine against coronavirus infection called Sputnik V. She has already gone through two stages of clinical trials, and the Ministry of Health has issued a permit to the Gamaleya Center to conduct a post-registration study of the COVID-19 vaccine.
