The cadets of the Ryazan Academy of the Federal Penitentiary Service established the burial place of the pilot who died in 1943. This was reported by the press service of the university.

Military-patriotic club “Search” of the Academy takes an active part in the implementation of the project “The fate of a soldier. Online “to establish the fate of the defenders of the Fatherland who disappeared during the Great Patriotic War.

As part of the project, a resident of Ryazan turned to the search engines with a request to find the burial place of her grandfather’s brother, pilot Nikolai Tikhonov. With the assistance of a local historian, a member of the Russian Military Historical Society, Sergei Baev, who lives in Nizhny Novgorod, cadet Natalya Cheremisova found out that Junior Lieutenant Tikhonov died on March 20, 1943 at the age of 24 and was buried on the territory of the Strigino airfield. After the war, his mother went to the burial site, but after her death, this information in the family was lost.

Thanks to the cadet of the academy, the route to the burial place of the Red Army soldier with photographs was transferred to the relatives of Nikolai Tikhonov.
