VTB plans to launch the service of transferring money through ATMs using the Fast Payment System (FPS) this year, the credit organization told Izvestia. They explained that the citizen will need to enter a phone number, and the system will show in which bank the recipient has an account. Then it remains to select the required credit organization, indicate the amount and confirm the payment.
Cash transfers via an ATM using a phone number in the SBP will also become available in the short term to Rosbank customers. The service is also being studied at Ak Bars Bank and Dom.RF Bank, representatives of financial organizations told Izvestia.
“The function of transferring by phone number through an ATM is important for residents of small settlements with unstable Internet connections. In addition, it is easier to make transfers by phone number, since there is less chance of making a mistake, ”said Artem Deev, head of the analytical department at AMarkets.
Now most of the largest banks allow transfers via ATM only to the recipient’s card or account number. Through the Sberbank ATM money can be transferred by phone number, but only within the credit institution.
