Musician Yuri Loza commented on the refusal of actor Mikhail Efremov to admit his guilt in a fatal accident in Moscow in court.

According to the singer, with this approach, Efremov himself turns Russians against himself, since any sympathy will disappear after such statements.

“If earlier someone tried to protect him somehow, then I think that after such a statement, even the remnants of a good attitude will completely disappear from the people. First you say one thing, and then another, “Loza said on August 5 on the air of the Moscow Says radio station.

Earlier on the same day in court, Efremov said that he could not admit his guilt, since he did not remember anything.

Commenting on this, Loza noted that the accident hit the cameras, and urged the actor to refresh his memory by watching the footage from the moment of the accident.

The Presnensky District Court of Moscow has postponed the hearing in the Efremov case until August 6. During the first hearing on the merits, the prosecutor read out the indictment. After listening to him, Efremov did not admit his guilt.

The accident happened on Smolenskaya Square in Moscow on June 8. Efremov’s car drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a Lada van driven by a courier Sergey Zakharov. The man died from his injuries in the hospital.

The examination showed that Efremov was drunk at the time of the accident. The actor himself a few days after the accident recorded a video message of apology. In the video, he noted that he “would not be smeared”, since “everyone saw everything,” and the cameras filmed the moment of the accident.

Nevertheless, he later refused to admit his guilt, and his lawyer Elman Pashayev said that he himself wrote the text for the actor’s video message.
