Heavy rains and gusts of wind up to 32 m / s are expected in 12 districts of the Primorsky Territory on September 7-8, according to the official portal of its administration, citing the regional Ministry of Civil Defense, Protection from Emergencies and Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters.
According to forecasts, in the southern and southeastern parts of the region in 12 hours precipitation will amount from 15 to 45 mm, the wind will increase to 15-25 m / s, on the coast gusts will reach 32 m / s.
“Heavy rains are expected in Vladivostok, Partizansk, Artem, Nakhodka, Ussuriysk, Spassk-Dalny, ZATO Fokino, Shkotovskiy, Nadezhdinskiy, Lazovskiy, Partizanskiy, Spasskiy, Khasanskiy, Olginskiy, Yakovlevskiy districts, Khankayskiy, Pogranichny, Oktyabrskiy and Khoroskiy districts. Thunderstorms will pass in places, ”it was reported.
On Tuesday night, wave heights of up to 4 m are expected in the Peter the Great Bay and other parts of the coast, and in the southern ports, the rise in water level may reach critical levels.
The high water content of the rivers and waterlogging of the soil in the southern and southwestern parts of the region can lead to rain floods with sharp rises in the water level from 0.7 to 2.5 m.
“The most flood-prone areas are: Oktyabrsky, Khankaisky, Pogranichny okrugs, Khasansky district and Ussuriysky urban okrug,” the message says.
Earlier, the mayor of Vladivostok, Oleg Gumenyuk, recommended that city residents stay at home during the Haishen super typhoon.
In addition, the Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako, instructed to create reserves of rescuers in each district of the region where a typhoon is expected.
