Three Cubans were rescued by the US Coast Guard after spending 33 days on a desert island in the Bahamas feeding only on coconuts.

“It was amazing! I don’t know how they got it. I was amazed by their good health ”mentioned Lieutenant Justin Dougherty, quoted by CNN.

It was when they carried out their routine sortie on Monday that Coast Guard patrollers spotted two men and a woman performing large signs with handcrafted flags.

The three Cubans were located on an island between Cuba and Florida, according to CNN.

The Coast Guard gave them water, food and a radio before returning to pick them up on Tuesday.

The Cuban trio’s boat capsized in troubled waters about five weeks ago and they swam to the nearest island.

Fortunately, they did not have any serious injuries during the incident.
