Pyro awaits trial for eight deaths in Yekaterinburg

A man born in 1991 is awaiting trial in Yekaterinburg for the death of eight people in a fire. This was reported by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Sverdlovsk region.

The man is accused of committing crimes under paragraph “a, e, and” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (murder of two or more persons, committed in a generally dangerous way, out of hooligan motives) and Part 2 of Art. 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (intentional destruction and damage of other people’s property).

The prosecutor’s office has already approved the indictment and transferred the case materials to the court for consideration, Ura.ru writes.

The fire occurred in a two-story wooden house on Omskaya Street on the night of March 27, 2020. The fire spread over an area of ​​200 square meters. m. Seven people died on the spot, another woman died in the hospital.

The suspect was detained on the night of April 2, when he set fire to a barrack on Shefskaya Street. In a video published by the regional TFR, referred to by the Ura.ru news agency, the man said that he went into houses and made a fire to warm up.
