An order appeared on the website of legal information, which states that Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the work of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly as the head of the Russian delegation by video link. Putin may address the UN General Assembly on September 22, the first day of the high-level week.
According to the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, the Russian president will not fly to New York for the UN General Assembly session, since the epidemiological situation in the United States has not yet leveled off.
The order notes that after Vladimir Putin finishes his participation in the work of the Russian delegation, it will be headed by Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. The delegation also included the chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, Konstantin Kosachev.
It is expected that Vladimir Putin will focus in his speech on the problems and challenges that the coronavirus pandemic has presented to humanity.
