The monument to the President of the USSR Mikhail Gorbachev, installed in Germany, is incompetent, said Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov.

He noted that for Germany the Soviet leader “did immeasurably more than for his country”, but the monument turned out to be unsuccessful, and it is impossible to recognize Gorbachev in it.

“Not his face, not his figure. Rather, it is some small thin bureaucrat in a quilted jacket and crumpled trousers, a kind of German Akaki Akakievich, who went out into the street and could not decide where to go – to the store or to the pub, ”Pushkov wrote on October 5 in Telegram.

The senator also drew attention to the object in the hand of the statue – a hammer, noting that Gorbachev had never carried anything like that with him.

“This monument can be considered a monument to an unnamed German called“ In indecision with a hammer ”. Indecision is perhaps the only thing that has been captured correctly, ”concluded Pushkov.

The day before, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the unification of the FRG and the GDR, a monument to Gorbachev was unveiled in Dessau-Roslau, noting the contribution of the USSR to the formation of a unified Germany.

Earlier, Pushkov called the absorption of the GDR by the FRG another confirmation of the failure of the policy of the President of the USSR.
