As the “MK in Pskov” was told in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Pskov region, the incident was the fault of remote scammers, whose trick was caught by the 39-year-old Pskov.
On November 26, a stranger called on his mobile phone. He stated that he was an employee of the bank’s security service and carefully proposed to prevent unauthorized debiting of money from his account. The owner of the bank card panicked and followed all the instructions of the caller. As a result, he lost several hundred thousand rubles and went to the police to restore justice.
By the way, earlier, using the same scheme, scammers managed to deceive a 36-year-old residents of Pskov (100 thousand rubles were stolen from him) and a 42-year-old resident of the Island (he lost 20 thousand). Both victims also turned to law enforcement officers. An investigation is underway on these cases.
