The situation around and testing by Turkey of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems seriously worries NATO. Alliance Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this at a briefing.

According to him, the acquisition of weapons is a national decision of any country of the alliance. Nevertheless, the compatibility of these weapons is important for NATO, and this especially applies to air defense and missile defense systems. The S-400 complexes, as Stoltenberg noted, cannot be integrated into a single NATO missile defense system.

Meanwhile, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said that Ankara does not intend to integrate the S-400 air defense system into the NATO air defense system. According to him, Turkey plans to use them in the same way as Greece does with its S-300s.
