Winter this year will come to Moscow two to three weeks later, at the end of November. This was announced on Thursday, October 29, by the leading employee of the Phobos weather center Yevgeny Tishkovets.
According to the forecaster, usually climatic winter occurs in the capital on November 10, at the time of the transition through zero degrees towards negative values, but this is not the case in current forecasts. “The zero crossing will be accompanied by waves of thaw, that is, the meteorological winter will come with a delay,” RIA Novosti quotes Tishkovets.
He also noted that the upcoming winter in Moscow will be mild, with an excess of the temperature norm: in November – up to two degrees, in December and February – up to three degrees, the NSN reports.
“January will become abnormal in terms of heat – at least up to four degrees above normal, the epicenter of heat will be in Central Russia,” the forecaster said.
At the same time in the weather center “Phobos” they believe that it is not worth waiting for a repetition of last year’s record-breaking warm winter, writes “Ridus”. But the excess of the temperature norm once again reminds of global warming, and winter in this sense is more indicative than summer.
Earlier on the same day, Tishkovets said that November in Moscow will be dry, the city will often be covered with anticyclones. Against the background of the absence of precipitation, ice on the roads of the city should not be expected.
