Medical services provided full assistance to the Russians during the New Year holidays. This was announced on Tuesday, January 12, by the Minister of Health of Russia Mikhail Murashko

“In connection with the traditional increase in the number of visits related to injuries, intoxication, and poisoning, we took the necessary preparatory measures in advance. And in all regions, medical teams were strengthened, which allowed us to go through the holiday period without major emergencies, ”Murashko said at a meeting of the presidium of the government’s coordinating council on combating coronavirus infection.

In addition, the minister noted that the situation with the drugs for COVID-19 in circulation has improved in Russia. According to him, the increased production covers the need for drugs.

The head of the Ministry of Health also announced that about 215 thousand patients with coronavirus are currently being treated in Russian hospitals.

“The situation with the incidence of coronavirus infection was completely under control. The number of beds was sufficient, medical services discharged patients from the hospital on time, so there was no shortage in any region with beds. Today, at the hospital stage, 23% of beds are free, ”added Murashko.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova at this meeting also announced the stabilization of the incidence of coronavirus in Russia. She stressed that there has been a 16% decrease in the number of hospitalized patients with COVID-19. According to her, if the recommendations for the prevention of coronavirus are followed, new beds for patients in hospitals will not be needed, as the spread of the virus will decrease.

In turn, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that it is necessary to closely monitor the situation with the spread of coronavirus infection after the New Year holidays.
