Motorists will be banned from driving on dedicated lanes in Moscow on Saturdays and Sundays. This was reported on August 30 by the Department of Transport of the capital in its Telegram channel.

“Soon all the dedicated lanes will work 24/7. At the same time, now on dedicated lines, where they removed the signs, until fines are issued, we will warn in advance about the beginning of the new rules, ”the department said.

The ministry stressed that travel on dedicated lines will be allowed only for public transport, taxis, emergency vehicles, utility vehicles and bicycles, regardless of the day of the week, Gazeta.ru writes.

“Thanks to the innovation, public transport will travel without delays, and residents of the capital will be able to wait less at stops. A single mode of operation of dedicated lines will help eliminate confusion and avoid accidental fines for motorists, ”added the Department of Transport.

On the eve, the authorities of the capital spoke about plans for the development of urban transport until 2040. In particular, special attention in this project is paid to the development of an intelligent transport system.

It became known this week that 865 traffic cameras will appear on Moscow roads in 2021. The installation of new complexes is aimed at improving safety and reducing traffic violations.
