According to the Investigative Committee (IC), the preliminary cause of the poisoning was contaminated drinking water, which was supplied through the water supply to the houses. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.

Water samples were taken for examination, the procedure will be dealt with by specialists of the Republican Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.
