More than 30 children are in hospitals in Buinaksk, Republic of Dagestan after poisoning. This was announced on Wednesday, January 13, at the press service of the city hall.
As specified, the age of the victims is from 2 to 14 years. They began to be taken to the hospital on Tuesday, January 12th. In total, 71 people were hospitalized, 61 of whom are children.
“At the moment, 34 children with signs of poisoning are in the children’s and central hospitals of the city of Buinaksk. The disease is mild to moderate. Severe cases have not been registered, ”said the message on the official website of the city administration.
According to the Investigative Committee (IC), the preliminary cause of the poisoning was contaminated drinking water, which was supplied through the water supply to the houses. A criminal case has been initiated on this fact.
Water samples were taken for examination, the procedure will be dealt with by specialists of the Republican Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare.
