Over the past day in France, 2288 cases of coronavirus infection were detected, according to the press service of the country’s Ministry of Health.
The total number of coronavirus patients in France was 197,921.
It is also reported that 12 people have died in the last 24 hours. In total, 30 324 deaths were recorded in the country. There are currently over 5,000 people with COVID-19 in French hospitals.
In mid-July, French President Emmanuel Macron announced the return of the coronavirus to the country.
In Italy, the number of confirmed cases of infection has also increased sharply. Compared to August 6, the figure increased by 38% per day. Over the past 24 hours, 522 new infections have been recorded.
According to the head of the Veneto administration, Luca Zaya, new cases of infection were found in citizens who recently went on vacation to Spain, Croatia, Greece, Malta and Peru. In total, almost 250 thousand cases of coronavirus infection have been recorded in Italy for the entire time of the pandemic.
