In Nizhny Novgorod, it is planned to organize and hold more than 140 events in honor of the 800th anniversary. The governor of the region Gleb Nikitin stated this, summing up the results of 2020.
According to the press service of the regional government, if the situation with the coronavirus stabilizes, over 2 million people will be able to attend the celebrations. The peak of events is scheduled for July-August, writes IA NewsNN.
The celebration program includes international, federal and regional events, Nikitin noted.
“These are not just events of the radiance of events. We want many of them to become traditional. And for many years they have made the business and cultural life of the city rich, delighting Nizhny Novgorod residents and at the same time attracting new guests to the city, ”the governor said.
Earlier it became known that the Ferris wheel will be installed on Sennaya Square for the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod as part of the landscaping work next to the K-60 springboard. Thus, it is planned to increase the tourist attractiveness of this site.
The 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod will be celebrated in 2021. By this time, a modern educational center for 1.5 thousand children should also be built in the city.
