The start of vaccination against coronavirus in Germany falls on December 27. However, at least another six months will pass until the time when everyone who wishes can make an injection.
The first vaccinations will be given in nursing homes. Mobile teams will be used to vaccinate residents and staff. According to the Federal Ministry of Health, the federal states and regional authorities determine which nursing homes will receive vaccinations first.
Persons eligible to receive the vaccination will be informed by the authorities. How exactly this will happen is regulated at the federal state level. Authorities should arrange for vaccination procedures so that long queues do not arise before entering vaccination centers. A single point of appointment will be created – it will probably be possible to make an appointment by calling the federal number 116117. Only those who are eligible for vaccination will be able to make an appointment.
