More than 13 thousand Muscovites have joined the Mama Online project, implemented with the support of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Moscow and the Technograd innovation and educational complex, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on January 19.

“Last spring, the“ Mama Online ”project was launched in Technograd for Muscovites who are raising children under seven. The project helps to transfer one’s work online or to master a new specialty, ”the mayor wrote on his page on the social network“ VKontakte ”.

He told about one of the project participants, Marina Melnik, who worked in the banking sector before her maternity leave, and now she is raising four children and studying. On the project, she mastered the profession of a recruiter, now conducts interviews with applicants and helps other mothers to believe in themselves. Recently she was invited to a permanent job as an HR-specialist on a “remote site”.

This year, the project has new opportunities: partner companies will start posting relevant vacancies on the platform.

Sobyanin expressed hope that these stories will inspire other Muscovites as well.

Within the framework of the project, a series of webinars will be held on the interactive platform of Technograd, during which experts will talk about new sources of income and mastering professions of interest to women online, as well as teach how to allocate time between childcare and self-development, according to the website of the mayor of the capital.

According to the head of the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development Alexei Fursin, the project’s online classes will help women use the time of childcare for self-development and professional development. “New skills will allow them to remain in demand in the labor market in any conditions,” he said.

Earlier, on January 14, the Ministry of Labor cited data on 3.7 million Russians working remotely.

The ministry expects that after the lifting of restrictions related to the spread of coronavirus, the number of telecommuting workers will decrease and will amount to about 5% of the total number of employed, about 2.7-2.8 million people. “

At the end of the year, it was reported that 60% of those surveyed in 2020 became more productive using the remote format. 56% of respondents said their productivity of telecommuting increased. 27% of survey participants felt that they remained at the same level.
