Investigators have completed an investigation into a high-profile criminal case of fraud in obtaining maternity capital in Ingushetia, Kommersant reports.
As specified, the criminal group included 23 people. Using forged documents, they managed to steal 38 million of budget funds. Investigators found that the children for whom cash benefits were issued existed only on paper.
The cover for the swindlers was organized by the ex-head of the regional department of the Pension Fund of Russia Movlat Vyshegurov, he is the main person involved in the case.
The prosecutor’s office explained that the suspicion arose back in 2012-2013, then the supervisory authorities began to record a sharp increase in payments for maternal certificates.
