On August 11, a meeting of the regional headquarters for combating coronavirus infection was held. During the meeting, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Kuban Aleksey Smaglyuk said that according to the data collected by monitoring groups, out of 50 thousand checked passengers, only about 17% wear masks. As for the drivers, among them masks are used by the overwhelming majority – more than 70%.
First Vice-Governor Andrei Alekseenko announced the need to provide all public transport with protective equipment and called the current situation unacceptable, the press service of the regional administration said.
“Each bus must have a sanitizer … Each driver must have masks so that passengers can purchase them. Special attention should be paid to Krasnodar. Transport on the line should be released only if there are PPEs,” the vice-governor ordered.
Earlier, “MK in the Kuban” reported about “mask raids” carried out in public transport. Employees of the Department of Transport were engaged in identifying violators of the high alert regime and checked about 50 buses per shift.
