The head of the Commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation for the development of the agro-industrial complex, Yulia Ogloblina, proposed introducing food ration cards, as well as social meals for the poor.
The corresponding proposal has already been sent to the government. The head of the commission explained this need by the increased prices for basic products Ogloblin believes that freezing prices can be effective only “for a short time”, and after that the market will begin to dictate its conditions and prices.
The head of the commission indicated that the government should think about the issues of providing low-income Russians with food ration cards, social meals, as well as essential goods.
Earlier, the head of the Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina spoke about curbing food prices in Russia – this should be a temporary measure. According to Nabiullina, she “does not really support such an administrative lever.” And those who watched her performance tried to figure out the meaning of the brooch in the form of a bullfinch: as you know, Nabiullina almost every time appears before the public with a new symbolic decoration. The regulator also changed the inflation forecast (from 3.9-4.2%) upward due to the situation on the food markets.
