Over the past day, 12 patients with coronavirus infection have died in Moscow. Thus, the total number of victims of COVID-19 in the capital was 4546 people, the headquarters said on Thursday, August 6.

“In Moscow, 12 patients died, all of them were diagnosed with pneumonia and received a positive test result for coronavirus infection,” it was reported.

As of Thursday, more than 245 thousand cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the city, in total, more than 186 thousand infected people were cured.

On August 5, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that the restrictive measures introduced due to the coronavirus could be extended for several more months.

Since July 13, the ubiquitous mask regime has been canceled in the capital. Now city dwellers do not have to wear personal protective equipment on the street.

However, masks and gloves must be worn when using public transport, visiting public places and shopping. So, at the end of July it was reported that raids began at all stations of the Moscow metro to check whether passengers had personal protective equipment.
