Two young men drunk and beat a priest in Kiev, reports “Kiev operative” on Facebook.
The incident took place on the night of September 4 near the NewWay mall. The men beat the priest and tried to escape from the scene, but were detained by police officers. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. It is noted that he recently suffered a stroke.
What exactly caused the attack has not been reported. Despite the fact that the attackers were detained, the priest refused to write a statement against them, saying that “God is their judge.”
In July, Ukrainian police detained a 48-year-old priest suspected of arms trafficking in the Lviv region.
During the searches, eight pistols, a rifle, 15 magazines, six silencers, 165 cartridges, stun grenades and other elements of weapons were seized from the priest.
