Argentine President Alberto Fernandez said at a video meeting with the governors that vaccination with the Russian drug “Sputnik V” in the country will begin on December 29.

He stressed that the vaccine will be delivered to all provinces of the country. At the moment, priority vaccination groups have been identified, which included about 14 million people.

“On Tuesday, the vaccination campaign begins throughout the country <...> We want to ensure that by autumn we have vaccinated most of the people at risk,” – quotes the words of Fernandez edition of La Nacion on Saturday, December 26.

On December 24, flight AR1061 of Aerolineas Argentinas delivered to Argentina 300 thousand doses of vaccine, which were loaded into 56 thermal containers at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport. The Argentine media called this flight “the flight of hope”.

Later, Alberto Fernandez thanked Russian leader Vladimir Putin for supplying the Russian drug.

Thus, Argentina became the first Latin American country to officially register the Russian Sputnik V vaccine on its territory.
