During the discussion, the head of the district informed the president about the situation in the field of agriculture and about the problems caused by the drought. Farmers rely heavily on government support, he said.
The head of state was also informed that all measures are being taken in the region to combat infection with the new coronavirus, and the Ungheni region is in 25th place out of 32 regions in terms of the spread of infection.
In addition, the meeting discussed the problems of implementing infrastructure projects, repairing roads, as well as the need for employment of people who returned to Moldova due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I noted that the development of the country’s regions and improving the living standards of the population is the main concern of the current government, and these issues are in the field of vision of the country’s top leadership, while the problems of drought and pandemic are included in the agenda of the meeting of the Supreme Security Council, which will be held tomorrow.
He emphasized that, despite the difficulties the country is facing, all obligations towards the population and economic agents will be fulfilled. In the near future I intend to hold such meetings with all the chairmen of the districts of Moldova, ”said Igor Dodon at the end of the meeting.
