In the Saratov region on Saturday, December 19, the head of the Volga Directorate for Heat and Water Supply (a structural unit of the Russian Railways branch), Alexander Kobzev, was detained. He is suspected of accepting a bribe on an especially large scale. This was reported by the Moscow Interregional Transport Investigation Department of the RF IC.

According to the department, in August of this year, Kobzev signed an agreement with a construction company to carry out emergency restoration work on the heating main of the Balakovo station in the amount of over 11 million rubles, having previously demanded 25% of the total amount of the contract from the general director of the company for the transaction.

As a result, upon receiving 1.2 million rubles, the attacker was detained.

A criminal case was initiated against the head of the directorate under Part 6 of Art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Taking a bribe on an especially large scale”).

It is noted that the investigation of the criminal case continues: the collection and consolidation of the evidence base is underway.
