The prime ministers of the federal states and Chancellor Angela Merkel held a “historic” summit on the coronavirus. The first solutions became known. So, in order to slow down the spread of coronavirus in cities and regions where the number of infected is growing rapidly, a curfew will be in effect in the catering sector from 23:00. This applies to settlements, where more than 50 new cases of infection per 100,000 inhabitants were detected in a week.

In addition, in regions with epidemiological concerns, private parties and events will be limited to a maximum of ten participants or members of two households, dpa reported. This limitation also applies to meetings in public places. If these measures do not stop the increase in the number of infections, meetings will be limited to five people or a maximum of two households.

The federal states also agreed to tighten the mask regime. It will be applied in regions where more than 35 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants are detected in seven days in crowded places where it is impossible to maintain a minimum distance.
