From the next day after being included in the dark red zone, additional restrictions are introduced in the region. From Friday, in regions with an increased number of cases, the curfew will be in effect from 21:00. Events will be limited to 50 participants. This also applies to theaters, cinemas or clubs.
Another innovation in Bavaria: in the future, foreign workers will have to submit a negative test for coronavirus once a week if they were at risk within 14 days before entering the country.
The new dark red indicator on the pandemic warning map has already drew criticism. For example, Helmut Dedi, executive director of the German Cities Association, says: “The system of rules and restrictions must be clear.” He fears that the population will stop accepting the restrictions. However, Zöder defends the measures introduced. “Germany successfully withstood the wave of the pandemic in the spring,” he said.
