The number of new cases of corona virus infection in Hesse is increasing. For Germany, Hesse now ranks first among the federal states with 17.4 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days. Bavaria lagged well behind with 13.9 and Baden-Württemberg with 12.4 new infections, according to a new table released Sunday by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin.

More and more large cities and districts in the federal state of Hesse are now subject to the regional warning level in terms of alarms. Over the past day, two school classes have been sent to Hanau for home isolation. The kindergarten in Bad Nauheim is closed for quarantine. On the eve of the city of Offenbach, the authorities have seriously tightened restrictions on social contacts.
According to data released by the Ministry of Social Affairs in Wiesbaden on Sunday afternoon, there have been 178 new cases of coronavirus infection across the country in the past 24 hours, but no new deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 14,587 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Hesse. 528 people have died from Covid-19 so far.
