Seismologists have recorded four earthquakes with a magnitude of up to 3.7 in the last 24 hours in the Pacific Ocean near the Kuriles, TASS reported on Tuesday, April 27, at the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“The epicenters were located near the southern group of the Kuril Islands. The magnitude ranged from 2.5 to 3.7. The depth of the foci did not exceed 51 kilometers, ”the seismologists noted.

It is noted that the local residents did not feel the tremors. No tsunami threat was announced.

On April 23, there were three earthquakes in a few hours off the coast of Kamchatka. Seismologists have recorded earthquakes with magnitudes of 3.9, 4.0 and 4.5. The epicenter of tremors with a magnitude of 4.5 was located 143 km from the village of Milkovo at a depth of 71 km. Another epicenter of the earthquake was located near the village of Ust-Kamchatsk.

On April 22, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 was recorded near the Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean. On the same day, an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.7 occurred near Novosibirsk.
