For the first time in Russia, a female machinist went on a trip on the suburban train of the Central Passenger Training Center. This was announced on Tuesday, January 12, by the Moscow City News Agency, citing the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport.

“The first of them is Elena Lysenko-Saltykova. She dreamed of railways since childhood, got this opportunity before anyone else in Russia and now manages the CPPK on the Kievsky railway station – Novoperedelkino route on the Kievsky railway line, ”the press service said.

The department added that the woman loves her profession so much that in 2020 she even got married on the Ivolga train.

Lysenko-Saltykova herself said that it was exciting to go on the first flight, but she was really looking forward to this moment. The woman also thanked the Central Suburban Passenger Company (CPPK) and colleagues for fulfilling her dream, helping her prepare for exams and supporting her.

On January 3, the first train driven by a female driver was launched in the Moscow metro on the Filevskaya line. Special uniforms were developed for the employees, taking into account the wishes of the metro workers, as well as the experience of male machinists. In 2022, at least 50 new female drivers will join the ranks of female drivers.
