Metropolitan John of Belgorod and Starooskolsk visited SIZO-3 in the Belgorod region, where actor Mikhail Efremov is being held, sentenced to 7.5 years in prison for a fatal road accident. This was reported on the website of the Belgorod and Stary Oskol dioceses.

After the moleben, the bishop performed the sacrament of confession over the convicts of the household service detachment and gave them Communion.
Efremov is in quarantine in Belgorod SIZO-3 before being sent to the colony.
On November 10, it became known that Efremov will serve his sentence in a correctional institution in the Belgorod region, where the football players Alexander Kokorin and Pavel Mamaev were previously held.
An accident involving the artist occurred in early June on the Garden Ring in the center of Moscow. Jeep driven by Efremov drove into the oncoming lane and collided with a domestic van. His driver, Sergei Zakharov, died in the hospital from his injuries the next morning.
In September, the court sentenced the actor to eight years in prison. In October, the appellate instance reduced the sentence, reducing his sentence to 7.5 years in a general regime colony.
Earlier, on November 20, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk told reporters that the police had opened criminal cases against three false witnesses in this case under Part 1 of Art. 307 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Knowingly false testimony of a witness.”
