The countries of the European Union and Germany are discussing the possibility of introducing a digital passport for vaccination against coronavirus. At the same time, the first digital vaccination card was issued in one region of Bavaria. A 71-year-old resident of the Verkhnebavarsky district Altting received the second vaccination against coronavirus – pediatrician. Despite his age, the doctor still practices, taking patients. Together with the second vaccination, he received a vaccination card with a QR code, said a representative of the regional authorities.

The district is a pioneer among all German regions when it comes to the introduction of the vaccination card. It records the name, date of birth, place of residence, photograph of the person vaccinated, the name of the vaccine and the date of both vaccinations. If the vaccinated person scans the code, he can save the data on the smartphone, – said the representative of the regional administration.

The procedure was not coordinated with the Federal Ministry of Health. “We have implemented the introduction of the passport ourselves,” – said the representative of the region. He also noted that the interest from other regions and cities is quite high, the media reported.
