In the Irkutsk region, experts predict an increased fire hazard in the period from 12 to 14 August. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Russian Emergencies Ministry for the Irkutsk Region.

A high and extreme fire hazard is predicted in Balagansky, Bodaibinsky, Bratsky, Zhigalovsky, Irkutsk, Zalarinsky, Ziminsky, Katangsky, Kazachinsko-Lensky, Kirensky, Mamsko-Chuysky, Nizhneilimsky, Nizhneudinsky, Taishetsky, Ust-Kilimsky, Ust-Ust-Ust-Ust-Udinsky Chunsky regions.

The inspectors created 161 stationary and 217 mobile interagency posts to prevent citizens from visiting forests.

According to IA IrkutskMedia, the area of ​​wildfires in the region exceeded 1 thousand hectares. Over the past day, specialists have liquidated six fires on the lands of the forest fund. The smoke zone included 303 settlements in 14 districts of the region.

Earlier in August, it was reported that in the Irkutsk region in 2020, 17 criminal cases were initiated on the facts of forest fires. Six of them were based on the destruction or damage of plantings as a result of careless handling of fire. We are talking about fires in Bratsk, Tulun, Ust-Udinsky, Kachugsky and Shelekhovsky regions.
